May 23, 2019 - A cotton farmer in Ropesville, TX works against the elements to plant his fields on time. Cotton must be planted before a certain date in order to qualify for crop insurance, and these dates often coincide with tornado season.

March 8, 2016 - I intercepted this storm while driving to Alpine from San Antonio on US Highway 90. It spit hail all over the road and was reported to have sprouted a tornado, but I didn’t see it. The weather down in that part of the state is anecdotal, at best.

I spent one year as an artist in residence at the Hotel Turkey in the Texas panhandle. This put me within fifteen minutes of Caprock Canyons State Park, which I studied fervently with my cameras during this time. I never missed an opportunity to visit the park during inclement weather, which lends another layer of interest to the cinematic landscape of the canyons. Here is a digital manipulation of a photograph I shot during a winter storm at the park of a bison cow and her calf.
